In the Central Region of Portugal, there are around 575 hotel properties. 232 are in Aldeias de Xisto! We’re expecting 8000 visitors in Fátima on the 13th of May 2017 plus of course the Pope Francisco. You’re still have time to book accommodation in Lisbon. In the surrounding areas and region from Fatima’s Sanctuary we run off long time ago. Take time to visit Portugal. It’s a treasure and it’s not hidden.

There is a new property to be rented in Aldeias de Xisto. I was fortunate to spend some time there and even though I did not recommend it yet at it has already great reviews. It is fully booked but I will share the link soon. Take the chance to stay in Penacova surrounded by green and enjoy the river Mondego. A pleasant eco-friendly and family destination. Do not expect to spend much time tuned as the internet isn’t available. Mother nature, natural swimming pools are the magic words.

And if by chance you need info, please leave a comment.

    1. I have searched high and low to see if I was wrong for questioning this and cannot find the word “shist” as a translation for XISTO….which is “slate” or “shale”.
